Samsun, formerly named Amisos, was founded by the Milesians around 750 BC. The city is not only famous for its scenic beauty but also for its monuments and artifacts that survived from the ancient times.


Samsun province is blessed with a generous natural landscape abounding in mountains, lakes, rivers and valleys. Moreover, Samsun is a coastal city with a Black Sea climate.
