Kos Island, one of the largest of the 12 Islands, is also known for its magnificent historical monuments from the Ottoman, Byzantine and Venetian periods, waiting for its guests in all its glory.
Kos Island Tour from Didim While you're enjoying your 2024 holiday in Türkiye, why not take an exciting day trip to explore a popular Greek island! Kos Island, one of the largest of the 12 islands, also known as İstanköy, is just 8 nautical miles away from the Bodrum Peninsula. Its magnificent historical monuments from the Ottoman, Byzantine, and Venetian periods await guests in all their splendour. In addition to its historical landmarks, Kos is a modern tourist hub with extravagant hotels, restaurants, beaches, and a vibrant nightlife that you could experience (with a one-night stopover) at least once on your trip to Türkiye! The world-famous Hippocrates Tree, located in the centre of Kos Island, is one of its most significant symbols. Hippocrates, considered the father of medicine, demonstrated that human treatment could be achieved through education and established a medical centre known as the Asklepion here. To this day, doctors visit Kos Island to take the Hippocratic Oath.
