Pamukkale is one of the most interesting places in the world, justly famous not only for the entrancing beauty of its unique geological formations but also for its historical remains.

Pamukkale has always been a very popular settlement where the hot springs were believed to have healing powers, so the city became the centre of a pagan cult in antiquity and a spa resort today. It represents a shimmering white cascade, formed by limestone-laden hot springs, which have formed stalactites, potholes and magical fairy-tables. The water is reputed to be beneficial to the eyes and skin and to alleviate the ills of rheumatism, asthma and dermatitis. 

The journey to Pamukkale is about three hours. After one an half hour we have 30 minutes break and then we have another one an half hour journey. When we get there, the guide informs you about the past and present events about Pamukkale (Hierapolis). After giving you information and showing you where to go or how to do things, the guide will give you a meeting point and leave you free for about three hours. Its up to you whether to visit the ancient side of Pamukkale or walk in the white paradise or swim in Cleopatra's pool. When you meet your guide after you have done what you wanted, you will go down to the town and enter in a very popular restaurant to have your lovely lunch. On the way back to Didim we might visit the biggest handmade carpet weaving centre.
